Default Help please - Schumacher Cougar SV Pro

Hi Guys,

First time out last night with my Schumacher Cougar SV Pro and had a few problems with the steering end of things.

The buggy came factory assembled and included plastic servo horns.

Duly fitted servo and plastic horn but even with relatively low speed impacts the teeth on the horns kept stripping. Steering ackerman and linkages all free.

There isn't a servo saver fitted so going to have a look to see if one is available.

Should I just fit a metal servo horn or is a servo saver a must?

Fitted Savox 1268 and Ace DS1015 as had both these spare from my nitro buggy. I know that these are both really overkill for electric 2WD, does this also have something to do with stripping the servo horn teeth?

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

Steve.

Yes, just get an ally servo horn. Be aware of the shape of it though as some aren't a suitable fit. From memory fast trax and core rc are the ones to use but please check first. If you do a search on here there is a thread about this subject which does tell you which ones fit ok

Oh, forgot to say very few people use a servo saver on the cougar, just the ally horn is fine

Yes, using the ones that came with the buggy.

When the first one stripped on the Savox 1268, I fitted the Ace 1015 and appropriate horn just to eliminate a servo problem but same thing happened.

Will try alloy horn and see how that goes.
