Just wanting a general idea of what battery layout people are finding works best for different track surfaces..........
1, Std stick pack form 2, Saddle pack 3, T shape 4, Shortie (either length way or width way) I havnt had my X6 very long but mainly run indoor on half carpet, half polished floor surface with the std stick pack chassis. I was thinking of getting a 2nd chassis so i could mod 1 of them to run a different battery layout if i was going to run on grass/astro/dirt surfaces ??? I only have LiPo saddles if that helps !!! Cheers

Part # 1009 is a plastic chassis pre-milled for saddle packs.
There are instructions on oOple to make the T-saddle arrangement Ellis favors. The standard chassis will accept either stick across the back or shorty across the back. For shorty, you must add a small piece of something on both sides to keep the pack from moving sideways. Paul favors the shorty sideways. |

Hi
Just how to mount them in the T config. Anything I need to do/buy, or is it simply a case of mounting them in like that with the existing battery strap & placing something either side? The chassis has already been dremmeled in front of where the cell slots would have been. Cheers |

I think some folks are using the Nimh battery strap.

I do not want to say which battery configuration works best on which surface, because there are many other variables, including specific lay-out, size of jumps, type of dirt, etc.
Ellis normally runs on U.K astro and grass, and usually uses the T-saddle configuration. Ellis invented it. Paul runs on dirt, from loose dirt outdoors to outdoor blue groove to high traction indoors with slicks to slippery indoors. He almost always runs shorty across the back. Perhaps they will comment more. With my driving skill, you don't want my opinion. They big thing is that you have lots of options with X Factory. Plastic or graphite. Stick across the back, shorty across the back, saddle normal, T-saddle. One of them should be right for your track, lay-out, and driving style. |

For over here its t lipo all the way. For dirt I'd run stick across the back, unless it happened to be really grippy then t again.
