Don't the inlet swirl valves flap have a tendency to come apart and get sucked into the engine.

+1 for Fabia vRS but best to buy one that's not been molested or "tuned", they seem to have plenty of irritating niggles once you start fanning about with them. They do feel cheap though and the brakes go a bit mushy if you lean on them a lot plus the steering is a bit inert. Driving position is spot on though and they look good and can be stupidly economical if driven reasonably.

Yep, easy to replace. Just done my mates 330D. Lucky as one had snapped, but jammed inside so didnt drop into the engine!

mondeo st tdci 155 are quite quick and can take a lot of model gear if you look at the estate version

vw golf or audi a4 are quick and tunable for diesel only problem is the variable vane turbos tend to start sticking other that good cars
