Hi,
Could you recommend a class of r/c racing that I could start in with a budget of £250 to start up? I'm open to class and scale. Everything t/c and buggies seems to be in excess of £650 to get started. Thanks. |

Micro racing is cheap 200 for a rtr losi or Carisma gt14b and then all u need is a fast charger

Hello mate,
Probably be best to see what clubs run nearest to you no point in buying something on a budget then having to do £20-£30 in fuel every week to go and race it.
I have just invested in a set up for 1/10th 2wd electric B4, (not had a chance to race yet though)everything was bought secondhand bit by bit. It would have been under £250 if I hadn't have blown an esc. If you prefer to buy new I belive you can buy an annsman mad monkey kit fairly cheaply, then go for a hobbyking sensored esc and motor I think you will get this lot all in for around the 250 mark maybe less. All you need to add to that is batterys and transmitter/reciever combo. Good luck and enjoy shopping

Mardave or new Schumacher super stox would be my recommendation. Plenty cheap enough, can get by on a single lipo for a club meeting and raced all over. You would be able to get near enough the top spec kit for the class, and what you blew on budget you'd save on consumables as parts are dirt cheap.

Best check your local clubs to see what they race, and what tickles your fancy. You can race most classes with an outlay of £250
1/10 TC is cheap and gives you close racing. GT12 is also similar in price but less popular. For offroad you can get good rtr brushless cars (The madrat is good, especially as its popular so there will be lots of advice on forums etc) The big thing is finding a club you like, then getting the set-up that will let you race there.

Go for a short course, it is the most relaxed class and is the most fun
