***PICS NOW IN POST 10***
Got a new DEX210 bulldog shell yesterday. To be fair saying I'm disappointed is an understatement. Obviously the 210 has 4 motor configs, if your running mid motor pretty much forget the bulldog shell. It's not been though out very well. The shell hits the motor, so one side of the shell is lifting. I run a Tekin Redline 7.5 no matter where I solder the wires the terminal always hits the shell. Knowing how the 210 works why they have not made a cowl set or a shell that works with the standard ones is beyond me?? You maybe able to get away with it just, if your running a speed passion motor with the contacts on the end. Il take some pics tomorrow to show it better. What's peoples thoughts? Any one else had the same problem? |

I'll take a few in the morning!
Fits perfect without the motor fitted.... Although don't think it would win any races without it.... |

Done two, think they are horrible shells to work with, as a painter.

![]() I know ![]() I'm not a great fan of the cab forward shells, not on any buggy, but the difference of yours is that it doesn't really look like a cab forward as it still retains the original shape of the cab rather than a block shoved on the front of the shell But each to there own

Ok so here we go, some pics!
Really not happy, The shells are not exactly cheap, and there is no mention of the shell fitting rear motor only??? No matter how I mount the motor, or route the wires it lifts up! Number One, Shell cut and mounted, (No Motor). Love it looks the nuts.... ![]() And the problem, When you install a motor! ![]() ![]() From the front. ![]() |

don't like that one at all, the windscreen isn't steep enough to be a functional cab forward, and as you say no motor room, and to be honest isn't good enough looking to get around the form over function bit,

To be honest i'm not a massive fan of the finnisher style. I prefer the bulldog shape. But its not been thought out.
If you look at the bulldog shell for the C4.1 the back is curved more to allow for the motor. ![]() |

use a gas soldering irons outlet to warm the shell up and reshape it with a spoon in the area that's catches.

to be fair theres isn't any really nice looking cab forwards shells, but then thats because there made to do a job and not look good, as always in racing function over form, after all if you want a car that looks nice go buy a touring car.

cut out around the motor should be better to get som air flow there instead of closing it in. The spoons a good idea.

Just been having another play about with it, I've managed to get it to sit with the original cowl, Its looking better. Although its not perfect its sitting flat now.
With the shape of the back of the shell they could very easily made it mirror the original so that it fits the cowl properly. |

Would it fit O.K with an SP motor ?

I don't have one, But looking at it you would be fine. Purely because the connectors are on the back of the motor.
