Advice on moulding parts !

Can anyone help !
Looking for advice on how to and what to use to mould some battery trays for my Losi TLR22

I ask as I want 8 of them and Losi only sell them as a pack with a rear motor part which I don't need or want and they are £5.50 plus postage each approx

The part I want to mould is the front battery tray shown here :



Any help and how to do this is much appreciated

The tooling costs for these would be thousands! They are injection moulded!

Obviously don't want to go into full production of this part and don't want to start making tools etc !

What I want them for is on the TLR22 I use Stubby Type Batteries
The front battery holder can be used on each side of the battery to hold it in situ, even with the velcro the packs are moving around !

Doesn't need to be plastic, could be nylon as long as it does the job.

Hope I've explained this right !

Just looking for an idea if its a possibility or I just bit the bullet and buy 8 packs for Losi !

I would just buy them, it would be a massive hassle trying to copy themand for forty quids worth of bits it's not worth it..

The guy is making stuff from 3D models on the computer, it seems to be cost effective ? Might be worth PM'ing him and seeing what it would cost.

Ideally though you need a cad / 3D drawing of it.

I have 4 of them sat in my spares box gathering dust, won't be used as i run my cars in different configuration so they are obselete to me...

You can probably find a few more putting a post in the wanted section... will save a lot of hassle trying to get them made!

Other than that it would be far cheaper to have some similar shaped carbon LiPo retainers made than to try and get some injection moulded.

Just buy them from Losi, it's only £50 or so. There is no way you could mold these for that cost, unless you went to B&Q and bought yourself some wood.

If it was just to hold a stubby LiPo in fully and properly, you could have also gone down the route of my LiPo hold-in system. I can't link to the thread at mo, cause I'm using my mobile.
What I can say though is it solves all issues associated with moving, bulky, compromised original system
