Default Gear diff, tight fit?

Have fitted my gear diff and when fully tightening the gearbox casing screws it stops the transmission running freely. Have checked it all and its all correct. Problem solved when unwinding screws just a couple of turns from fully tight which wont be a problem but just wondered if anyone else has found this? And if so why? Cant see it catching on anything at all.

I've had this happening an all my boxes. Not really a problem, as you should never overtighten a gearbox anyway Also, nearly all the midmotor casings I've seen are a bit crooked, so that the motorplate doesn't line up completely straight with the spur gear, but it doesn't seem to be a big problem...

Sure it mentions it in instructions but i do it anyways...

bit of threadlock left to dry on end of screws into motorplate before fitting then they don't need cranking right up and easier to get it running smooth without fear of screws coming loose.

After a few runs it will settle and wear in and can be tweaked up a bit... didn't notice any issues with mine and gearbox has a good overlap dust seal designed in to keep sand/debris out.

Run the gear diff in properly dude, one wheel on floor and let loose spin on low power, alternating wheels and building power up as you do it, gets rid of any notchiness and will mean its ready and working better from the first time it hits track

What oil you gone with? I'm up to 5K and it feels good on dry and wet astro... dolike a fairly tight ball diff though... get ready for having stupid acceleration and brakes! Noticed my slipper squealed a bit under braking so ended up on 40% brake power, still stops dead from speed!

It will feel different over jumps to start with as it responds differently on power, few laps and you'll be sorted, not like you haven't got the experience!

Should feel a lot more rear traction now though and lose some excessive steering
