Default Yoke newbie bmax4 who runnin this year

Just got myself a bmax4 after selling my tamiya 502 and looking forward to having ago with it.Just in the middle of giving it a long overdue rebuild .

just shocks to rebuild and gonna do diffs with some buds balls.

looked about not much of these running none at my club at all so any tips tricks setups etc will be running on high grip carpet at my club and outdoors on grass and astro

got loads of spares with the car but is there any upgrades worthwhile like the .5 or 1 degree hubs.

any info much appreciated as i really want to give this car a good go cheers

What version of the Bmax4 do you have? basic kit? Worlds 2009 kit? Team factory kit? Bmax4II kit? etc...???

It would help to know as each kit has a different group of upgraded components. We can,t tell you buy this, it is really worth it, if we don,t even know if you have it. maybe a few pics would help us out.

Great car by the way...

Jamie, upgrades... Well the Bigbore shocks are soo nice... But certainly not essential... The carbon battery straps to hold down lipos...

Hennestly, I think you are pretty set as is. No real NEED to upgrade...

Hi Jamie,
I'm getting quite alot of stuff for my bmax 4 II from xtreme rc down in kent. (http://www.xtreme-rc.org.uk).

Not sure on big bore part no's but they've certainly got me different bigbore springs recently, so they should be able to help you...

Jamie, Yok big bores are a waste of cash on the bmax. Never noticed any difference with mine.

Jamie, not trying to contradict Dave, but the Bigbores are sweet shocks... Honnestly, I would keep the champion pack shocks you have and see how it goes. No NEED to upgrade. But if you must... But if I was to upgrade, it would be to the yokomo bigbores intead of Tamiya....

Just my 0.02$

Hey, no worries. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. All I meant is they are a very expensive add on. I have had a few Bmax's over the years both with and without big bores and as nice as the big bores are, I'm not sure they make that much of a difference.

Dave

Default Towers and shocks

I'm not sure of the advantage of instaling carbon towers...I've got two bmax4s (yes they are that good!) and neither have broken a stock tower yet. The cars are renowned for durability. The only part so far I've had to replace outright was a rear turnbuckle link/end. From what I remember the stock ends are designed with a bend which could be a weak point, but I think this has been rectified in the newer models (correct me if I'm wrong here guys!). Although yokomo parts aren't easy to get I'm sure the stock towers would be easier to find than carbon ones and it would make economic sense.

Shock wise I've always used big bores and now most of my cars have them as standard! But I'm sure with proper tweaking you can still achieve an excellent setup. See the petit.com setup guides.

First outing today and really impressed with the car was outdoors on short grass car was pretty dialed.

1 point though clipped a crate that was making one of the jumps ripped the whole corner off and has broke the rear of the chassis looks like a bad design couple of guys at the club says the old losi xx was the same any ideas.

other than that very impressed with the first time out
