Depends if 'value' is solely price based or total value, inc strength and breakages.

If I pay £100 for a car that breaks after 5 minutes, or the electrics blow up I wouldn’t consider that to be value for money. If on the other hand I had to pay £200 for a car that would be robust, easy to set up, and the electrics wont melt after 5 minutes, then I would consider the extra money worth it. Just want to get some feed back as I want to recommend a car to a beginner.

Myself and my two boys aged 6 and 11 started off with Associated B4.1's. Very quick as standard, very strong and a good all round package.

Brushless is just over £200 in some places, brushed under £200.

Get a 2.4 ghz version.

I would of thought the RTR B4.1 brushless? Or maybe the Losi 22 RTR?

+1 for the B4.1 RTR: nice to start with, easy to find spares and setup info, easy to upgrade with factory team upgrades, ...

my personal choice is the ansmann mad rat, it may only be £40 and need a bearing kit but if you make a aluminum re-enforcement plate then they are a great car, mine is set up perfectly and never grip rolls and it is all stock

Having had a bad experience with a rtr brushless Mad Monkey (electrics seemingly not up to the job) i'd say it's between the B4.1 & the Losi 22. The Losi for me as it can be rear or mid (though mid parts not included with he rtr) & it's sensored, unlike the B4.1

i would say b4.1 purely for the fact i bought a rtr one last year and raced it all season and only broke a front shock tower, did change the electrics but only because i already had them other than that not touched it
