Default Crystals and connector help please

Hi, i am looking to buy some crystals to get more into racing and i havent a clue what to look for and what to pay for them. I have had a quick look on Ebay but i dont want to start bidding until i know what im talking about. I have the Associated trigger style handset transmitter.jpg like this one. I will also be upgrading it soon so are crystals universal?

Also, i am wondering what the best battery connectors are as im using tamiya connectors and they r crapo!!

Any help much appriciated
Andy

xtals tend to be universal although some good handsets tend not to like other makes. Main thing is to remember that you will need AM xtals and 27mhz only, those are not interchangeable. Best thing i would do is buy 2 more sets of xtals, then upgrade to 40 mhz FM because its much better and reduces glitching and other woes massively.

For connectors, corally style are very popular with racers but are easy to plug in backwards if your not paying attention so i would recommend deans which are very good and nice and small.

i have-to disagree there Josh, i used to run 40meg and get loads of glitching, and now on 27meg i get hardly any.

You sure you ran 40 FM? just nearly everybody who races competatively and who isnt on spektrum runs 40 FM very reliably.

So it was probably 40 AM which is a waste of space really. HiTec do good tranny's but would really recommend 40 FM, is wont glitch much at all.
