Hi What speedo would you recomened for stock 27t motors ( hpi 27t) , i know its only a cheap motor , soo you cant exspect much !! its for use in our stock mini class at our local club

im currently using a nosram stock spec , which is getting a bit problematic !!

ive been offered a gm genius 90 and a tekin rs , my mate is using a cs rocket and his car always seems quick , but these are getting rare and hard to find ..

what would you chose ?

All the high-end brushed ESCs from a few years ago are good. Most of the brushless ESCs that will also run brushed are good too but they are a bit more of a fiddle to wire up and set up.

Personally speaking I run a Keyence Rapida Pro in my Mini. What I like about this ESC is that it has a built-in display for programming, and doesn't need a schottky or a capacitor which makes the installation neater.

Lots of people run LRP Quantums - the QC3 has a LiPo cutoff built in and is still available new.

Some of the old brushed ESCs are quite difficult to program, it was all a combination of button presses and flashing lights, and if you don't have the instructions you won't have a clue on how to get it running normally. The KO VFS-1 had a handheld programmer but if its settings have been changed with the programmer and you don't have one you'll also be stuck.

Some of the cheaper ESCs are good too - but its hard to know how good until you actually buy one! I wouldn't buy anything by Mtroniks, and I wouldn't buy anything with an "automatic" setup either.
