Default Speedo/Motor combo for an SCRT10 (4WD)

Hi all,

So, I blew up my LRP Sphere running a 5.5t (540 size) motor (duh!) in my quest for a decent turn of speed in the SCRT10, and need to replace the speedo.

The 10.5 Tekin I had in previously just doesn't have the power I want (used to my Cat running a GM120 and 6.5t).

So, what are you all doing for speedo's/motors? Do I just sling in a HobbyWing 120a and a milder motor (like an 8.5) or do I go for the SC8 and pick up one of the generic 550 size motors? If so, any recommendations?

I don't want to spend a fortune as you can tell!

Cheers!

Thanks! That looks like just about the RC bargain of the century!

Any idea if these are any good with 2S lipo's? I'm not used to dealing with 550 size and KV's, at first glance the KV rating looks quite low? But I'm used to using turns as a reference so what do I know lol

Iv put a TEKIN RX8 and a TEKIN PRO4 3300kv 540 size motor in my 4wd durango, cranked it up to the max,ran a 5200 pack on a race track till the lipo cut off kicked in,it has flashing lights from 1 to 10 to tell you how hot everything is,it only flashed up 2,its not the quickest motor in the world but its more than enough for now

Tenshock sc411 4600kv and a Xerun SCT Pro

always thought the 3300kv Pro 4 was a 3s motor????

Reg - I looked at the RX8, looks an awesome bit of kit but wayyyy too much £££ for a second car! Thanks for the reply though bud

AJ - like your thinking - I like the fact I can get the next speedo up for a tenner more, the SC411 sounds like a stonking motor, all the reviews look good, but I can't seem to find it on sale in the UK anywhere. Do you have any links at all?

Failing that, I reckon Checa's recommendation is the way to go!

Thanks guys.
