I am currently running on a very small tight track polished floor, what FDR should I be hoping for, its coming off a tad too hot for my liking
FDR at present 5.71 28/80 Can any suggest if i go to between 4.5 - 5.0 FDR or vice versa seem to see some conflicting info on here which i think seems to come down to track thanks |

Going to 4.5-5.0 in't going to make it run any cooler, although those motors are known to be happy running at quite high temperatures. If the motor is going soft by the end of the race then it will be too hot.
I'd gear it for performance, one tooth at a time until you get nice balance between punch off the corners and top end. And fast laptimes too! For comparison I'm running about 5.5:1 with a SP V3 13.5 on a small carpet track. |

I would say it defo goes soft towards the end, il go up a few pinions to bring the ratio down to low 5's and see how that goes
thanks |

If it is going soft at the end then going up a pinion will just make it run hotter. You need to be going down a pinion first.

90 for the x12 isn't too hot. If it's going soft I'd gear down not up. Also, how old is the motor, and have you had it from new? When the magnets go on the rotor it causes this.
