Default Big bore suggestions for the B44

I have a B44 FT, and I love it to bits. But...

I was wondering if anyone has successfully used some form of big bore shocks on both the front and rear of the B44 or B44.1?

Don't mind what make, Tamiya, Kyosho or Losi, just some insight would be great

Schumacher big bores are a perfect swap and work great and look better!

I would imagine that the Yokomo big bores would be a straight fit as several guys ran the slim Yoke shocks on the B44 before the AE V2 shocks came out.

Axeman on here runs the Schuey big bores on his B44 with no issues

I thought I had read somewhere that the Schumacher shocks fitted. Also Losi ones as well.

Are the Associated V2 ones really any difference (apart from the bleeder caps and gold shaft) from the standard threaded shocks?

Big bores do look sexy, but still not sure if they improve anything

The V2 shocks do away with the plastic clip to retain the seals.
The seals now fit into the bottom of the shock from the outside and are retained by a screw on cap.
The sizes are so identical that Associated sell the bodies on their own so that you can reuse the caps, seals and shafts, springs, etc from the V1 shocks.
Consensus seems to be that the V2's are smoother than the old ones as well as removing the risk of the plastic clips blowing on a big jump.

The bleeder caps have been available seperately for some time before the V2 shocks came out and are worth getting anyway.

I wouldn't use the Schumacher shock they are just to leaky.
Has anyone tryed the tlr 22 shocks to see if they fit as i have been running them since the car was put on sale in the uk and they have been the least leaky shocks i have ever used ..

Slow bob - I have read somewhere that Losi big bores have been used instead, but I have no idea if they are a straight fit or not

Here are some pics of my MiD44 with TLR big bores.
Direct fit, just some washers at the top front (to not touch the shock mount), and bottom rear to fit them right.
I plan to change the front by moving forward the front shock mount as the shocks are quite angled ;-)

been running yokomo big bores for a month or so on my b44 so thought id share some feedback on em
i am running 40 / 35 oils and standard black springs which does deaden the shocks a little but i find this helps me be a bit aggressive and stops a lot of grip roll i am gonna try slighty softer oils at some point but on my local track ( bury metro) i am happy with the set up at the min
at oople race ( at rhr) i ran the v2 shocks for 3 rounds then swopped to the big bores and found they made the car a bit more settled and predictable on track and it jumped and landed a lot better . it definatley helps landing of big jumps and controlling the car afterwards
also in terms of toughness i think big bores survive bad crashes better i have lost a shock bottom tie rod and bent a shaft once but they dont rip off as easy and are more durable than any standard shocks i have used
all the b44 owners at bury reccomend going back to associated shocks to help set up the car but i prefer the big bores really even if its for the extra durabillity it gives . personally i think they are a slight improvement over normall shocks . even if not a major one.
any one else using the yokomo/ansmann big bore shocks on a b44 got any more set up or oil advice its appreciated

I will be trying TLR 22 bigbores to my B44.1 next weekend. I'm fed up with constant failure of the Associated V2 front shafts.

Look like fronts have to be limited quite much. And the body is tiny bit longer, so it could be that front shock tower must be raised 1-2mm. Then when fully compressed, the angle of the wishbone is similar to std AE design.
