How do you get more grip on a b4.1 without paying over £20

Additive might be a cheap alternative. Cheaper still play with your set up. What surface are you running on?

More front end grip, rear end or all round?
What tyres are you using on what surface?
What's your current setup?
Lot's of questions I know but without knowing this we could end up suggesting what you've already got!
