Do you really need to tap it? When I did the wing mounts on my X6, I just drilled with a slightly smaller drill than the thread of the screw I was using and then let the screw cut it's own thread into the plastic. Never had a problem with it pulling out...

I tap mine M3. But I have just drilled a hole and shoved a screw in before, and it was OK (just tight) |

Assuming you're talking about mounting the wing to the wing mount, funnily enough I did this last night as last ones were 2 years old.
I drilled mine with a 2.2mm bit all the way through and a 2.5mm bit for the top so it was easy to get going but then got a good grip (4/40 is approx 2.8mm). My old ones lasted 2 years like this using rear wheel outer washers and a countersunk screw to hold down on top.

I just stick a 2.5mm in and let the screw thread it....it is nicer to tap them but I've found they can work loose then for some reason and they hold tighter by just putting the screw in.
