Default thinking of buying a 22

hi i currently run a x6 squared dont get me wrong it handles realy well & goes like a bat out of hell but i am bored so want something to get me teeth into , now ive read most of the post on this forum from why is everyone selling there 22,s to people saying that you can get them . never mind darren bloomfield he's a different class of driver to the likes of your average club racer like world class so i am interested in the regular joe,s like me who get them going well and what is the most important upgrades needed if any or can it go well straight from the box. any info woud be greatfuly recieved like upgrades / setyups / how well people have got there 22 running ect

by the way ive been racing for about 25 years on & off and run mainly indoor on primafelt carpet at mansfeild mcc or will run outdoors on astroturf at broxtwe mcc many thanks deano

Ive just got a 22 with plenty of spares and upgrades of here in as new condition for £130.
My thought was Do I or Dont I but after reading all the set up tips and how people can now set them up to drive the way they want that made my mind up and i went for it.
Had a B4.1 and just couldn't settle with it but plenty of people love them.
Go for it and see if its for you.

Love mine. Now that it has a gear diff, I don't even look at other options.

allu steering, if you use the stock ball diff, change the T nut to V2 or use AE ones or get a SC10 Gear Diff or Losi (if its available). thats about it, but if you like the Bling get the allu. their great.!!!

I purchased a Losi 22 a week ago. It's my first 1/10th buggy and I raced it at my local club on the weekend. My 22 is all stock with no upgrades, I did not have time to tweak the setup, the first time I used the car was racing with it on the track at the weekend.

The 22 is fantastic!

I placed well in the heat's and the final but this was due to the car being so easy to drive, stable, balanced, reliable & consistant. No parts broke, everything just worked as it should.

I would highly recommend getting the 22. I'm just your average club racer, so more experienced drivers may have a different opinion but I would not upgrade the 22 until you feel the need to as out of the box/stock it worked very well for me.

I think many guys here are average club racers, that's why it's good to read your opinion! Professional or more experienced drivers are able to deal and win with cars that break when Average Joe only looks at them...

Gear diff all the way,its one less thing to adjust.

A gear diff has a more direct feel under acceleration as it does not slip. The feel in the turns can be tuned with special fluids. Thin oils result in more diff action, thicker fluids or grease result in a tighter diff, comparable with a locked ball diff.

I used to run 3k oil in my short course trucks, which worked quite well - and was much less work than servicing a ball diff...
