Default Tamiya Top Force Wheels fitting???

Can anyone tell me what fitting type does the Tamiya Top Force use????

Pins, Hex's

If Hex's can the rear Hex be removed and use pins on the rear???

They are hexes as standard, and the hex is driven by a cross pin, so pins is obviously possible. looking at one, you may struggle to get the right offset though as the hex is quite thick.

Just tried a Tamiya wheel from my 201, it appears the offset may well have been compensated for, measured by eye, not rule... And the one thing that you would need to do is open up the hole at the rear of the wheel slightly to allow for a slightly larger diameter than normal stub axle. Only a bit though, and wouldn't need to be straight through, so your wheels would be fine on other cars afterwards. Note that the cross pin on Tamiya's is also a bit thicker than other manufacturers.

Just measured up the Durango wheels and drive pins and Top Force drive pins.

Durango wheels will add 2.5mm per side on to your track width.

Durango drive pins are 1.6mm dia.

Top Force drive pins are 2.0mm dia.

The 2.0mm top force pins are also quite Short in comparison to the Durango ones, and if they are not central, will effectively only drive on one side of the wheel, not both as intended.

The Durango wheels are a very snug fit on the stub axle though, and you would need a shim to prevent the drive area of the wheel rubbing on the rear hub / bearings and therefore binding.. You would probably need to use the thin serrated lock nuts too, as the stub axle thread which protrudes from the wheel is too short for using a nyloc nut.
