You will need,

1 x extra idler gear
1 x idler gear shaft
2 x idler gear bearings

Screws to suit - see the online manuals but I know you can pick up a full screw kit for about £10 which is always handy to have around anyway

Luniemeister has given you some of the parts list for mm4.
I think you need 2 idlers, 3 gear uses the large idler, 4 uses 2 small ones.

But tbh. That's the best one to go for anyway!
I also converted my diff to a 4 gear one. Just needa cross shaft, a couple of gears and the spacers.

Hi. I have looked into this further and all i need to do for 3 gear MM is take out the spur gear shaft and turn it round as the car comes 3 gear RM and all the plastic parts come with it all but two screws. Can someone explain the benefit of 4 gear when the added gear is the same size and does not seem to gear it up or down but just reverse the motors action if you want the motor on that side of the car also this puts slightly more load on the motor for seemingly no gain. I,m gonna do it today and put up a pic here of the final result.

The differences in behaviour between rm, mm, 3 and 4 gear are all on the site.
The main differences are in how it behaves under acceleration, cornering and in the air. (Balance and traction)

http://www.team-durango.com/in-the-p...rticle_id=4472

FWIW the "main" versions used are mm4 and rm3. Some use the other options, but not (afaik) that many.

And you don't add a gear, you take one large idler out and put two smaller ones in instead. No change to final ratio. But you do change the direction of rotation of the motor in relation to the wheels.
BTW in all configurations the motor runs "forwards" it's just the arrangement of the spur, motor and gearbox that change.

I did comment on another thread (same subject) a week or so back, have a search

Right Matt I see, cheers mate when I search on this forum it often fails as some sort of memory problem ?. Anyhow I have completed the MM3 conversion shell recut everything sorted which was quite easy to do and the worst part was feeding the antenna wire back through its pipe hole what a pain, as I swapped sides with the electrics. All the parts you need come in the spare parts bag you get with the rtr the only thing you need to get is two screws I used two m3 x 23 mm +/- a couple of mil that I had from my nitro helis. when your done you will have a bunch of plastic parts and screws left over. Test run was excellent. If I can find me camera I will bung a few pic on.

Hi mate

I have recently converted the rtr from rear motor to mid motor 4 gear. The below link takes you to the main durango site but scroll down and it shows what parts to buy

http://www.team-durango.com/race-cars/dex210rtr/

You do not get the instruction manual with the rtr either so is worth searching for the durango 210 instruction manual and use this to convert

Hope this helps

Not too bad to do (for a novice) And took a couple of hours. My brother and I used the following video which is very basic but there are 3 videos. We used this with the instruction manual. You will need to change some parts but they all come with the rtr apart from the extra bits needed as before

The video is for the truck but gives you an idea

As above really, will the rtr shell need cutting around to fit in mm format ?

Yes it will, to be able to accomodate the motor plate now in front of the rear tower.

Check out step 29 in the manual here http://www.team-durango.com/pdf/manu...n%20Manual.pdf
the 10mm screws go into the transmission case and the 30mm go through the RR holder

It should be held down with the ones in the RR suspension holder and 2 underneath.

Also if you are doing this with the rtr you have to prize off the top part of the antiroll bar holder off the brace that you have removed and it is glued to it so can take some coaxing off so you can use it at the rear with the second part of the anti roll bar holder that is in your spare parts bag.
