Not sure how to do a poll so thought I would ask what you use and why??
2wd carpet is what I'm interested in. How do the 2 differ in handling/grip?? Last edited by MHeadling; 06-01-2012 at 06:18 PM. Reason: . |

It depends on what your setup is and the carpet type.
Expect more steering generated fron the new type staggers.

Are you guys talking about Staggers and Cut Staggers?
I am about to try some cut stagggers in the hope of a bit more grip up front. |

Yes and yes new staggers will give you more grip imo

why not just use schumacher mini pins all round?

Mini pins all round usually give way too much steering/front end.

i find cutting the old ones like the new ones is good, they last for ages,i find if i run the other tires i cant run the rears for as long as the grip ballance is to much,i find the new ones are to much for me on our track,

Sorry guys I should have said Stagger rib vs Cut Stagger rib in the thread title.
Thanks for the feedback so far! My Stagger ribs have been on the car for ages, they hardly wear at all, when do people change them?? When the edges go on the blocks?? |

Hi,
I hope you don't mind me adding to this thread. I have just started back racing this week after a long break and have spent some time trying to get the car set right. I am running a Cougar with staggered rib front tyres but seem to be suffering with more understeer than most. I just can't change direction quick enough. It may well be just my driving but I am trying to do different things to stop it. I am not running foam inserts. Do I need them? Thanks Tommy |

Try the new 'in line' front axles and 5 degree yokes. A dab of brakes will help for a sharper turn in on tight corners.
There are many other factors though. |

Ive got some 5 degree yokes that i've not yet fitted so i'll give them a go. It may well be just my driving. Thanks for your comments though. I'll re post this in the schumacher discussion.
Cheers |
