Hello
Anyone know if mad rat diff plates are the same as X2C? What problems do people have with the X2C gearbox. Do the idlers wear excessively? one or both of them. What about the slipper, is it worth replacing the spur with B4 one, Direct replacement? Keith |

you should upgrade the adlers to the nylon ones. and a b4 spur and pads and you will never have a problem with the gearbox again

the mad rat plates fit perfectly (exactly the same), while your in the gearbox its best to replace both idler gears too to be safe. Ive not changed to ae slipper assembly but many do and praise it as its more consistant than the stock one

Ive raced mine every week since ive owned it(x2c), never had a problem with the standard slipper so far so in my opion upgrading slipper is personal choice.

Yes they are. What problems do people have with the X2C gearbox. Do the idlers wear excessively? one or both of them. The standard ones are ok, the nylon upgrade is fantastic I'd replace both. What about the slipper, is it worth replacing the spur with B4 one, Direct replacement? 2 issues with std slipper 1. only 80T or 86 spur 2. Heat build up. If you run mod then the 80T is perfect and I'd get the new vented slipper plates and the slipper is great then. A little work and modification is needed to use the AE spurs/pads. The plates need to be machined down to fit the pads (inside the hex) and the AE spur is slightly narrower so u need to put shims between the gearbox casing (bearing) and the first plate. If you dont the spring bottoms out on the shart and you can't tighten the spring to make correct contact with the 2nd plate.

Hello
rebuild an x2c gearbox, it was a used car not originally built by me. The Top shaft washer is missing. Back of the slipper plate is well scored but useable. The slipper plate binds against the ends of the screws and gearbox plate. Need to find something to use for the washer, how thick is it? Steel or aluminium. Is the washer 7mm outside dia, 5mm dia int dia? Is it a push fit into the plastic case. Does the washer pull up tight to the bearing when you tighten the slipper or does the shoulder on the shaft/ plates hold it off. Do I need it? Keith |
