Jamie
I use a HW 60a speedo in my 2wd and have used it in my 4wd to good effect and with no problems.
However it is the sensored V2 (or 2.1) that I suggest you try and stretch to. The one in your link is the unsensored version and is unable to run the different boosted software versions you might like to use with an 8.5t.
If I was buying on a budget I would take a look on ebay at the Bullistorm (HW copies) which are inexpensive.
I have just bought one as a back up and they seem like good value.

I've been running a 60a ezrun 5.5t in 2wd buggy all summer - never got hotter than 30 degrees and is very fast

Have also picked up the extreme stock 60a esc and paired it with my losi 8.5. Still learning the correct settings regarding timing and turbo buts it's breathed new life in to a motor that was cronically slow at cov

I'd say the ezrun is a great combo for the money and is also handily as being non sensored it can run it wet conditions and no worries about sensor wires shorting out etc. I run a 23/80 gearing with a 2.6 gearbox ratio in my x2c and it's never cogged or got hot yet!!

Jamie

Have a look at:

You would need to be carefull which motor you use, plus watch timing.

or

Lot more flexibility

Just so your aware u will need a separate programming box for the xerun or extreme stock so factor in an extra £20

The ezrun comes with motor and the led programming card for about £65 from giantcod, get the 5.5 - u can always lower the EPA on the radio if it's to quick

Yep .. Thats the one you want Jamie.
Although you will need the LCD program box to update/adjust the software. Or you can get a buddy to do it for you.
Pip.
