x6 squared indoor setup

hi i have just started back racing after a 10 year and got a x6 squared and wondered if anyone can give me a setup for indoor on primafelt carpet . i am currently using a standard set up with schumacher yellow mini pins rear & schumacher yellow staggered ribs or mnipins front . the car goes well but maybe lacks a little front end grip any help would be appreciated cheers deano

This is a set up i was advised to try by Mark Williamson (top all round guy)
And it works for me,just my driving at times letting the set up down......
I run on mainly carpet with a bit of polished floor surface



Front

• 35wt oil
• Losi Red Piston/Ghea No.2
• Losi Black Spring or AE Blue 4.2
• Outer on arm
• Middle on tower
• 1 washer under inner ballstud, outer at hub carrier, outside on shock tower
• Front Wing
• At least the outer row cut off minipin tyres, maybe inside and outside, to smooth the handling.
• 30-60g of weight to tune in grip level/feel behind servo.

Rear

• 30wt oil
• Losi Red Piston/Ghea No.2
• Losi Pink/Red Spring or AE Blue/Red (Rear Buggy Springs)
• Inner on arm (outdoors), inner on tower for shocks
• Middle on arm (indoors), 2nd out on tower
• e-speed hangers up.
• long wheelbase on inside
• short wheelbase at hub
• Rear wing cut down to very small or no gurney.
• AE Black roll bar (or make your own approx 1mm roll bar from piano wire)

I have tweeked it with 70g weight behind the servo, 80g under the speedo
Oh and silver rear springs.

I found the longest front link camber worked well inside on more sweeping tracks, as it stopped the car 'snapping' off power mid corner. I only ever ran the saddle pack car, which I think is a lot better really with the newer heavier lipos, as it means more weight is further forward, so much less ballast is needed (i.e. an overall lighter car).

Running the rear shocks further out on the rear arm, and 2nd hole out on the tower really transformed the car for me, along with losi red/ae blue rear springs. I would advise running the rear e-speed camber links up, and letting the grip come up on dustier carpet/slippy floor mixed tracks. On more slippy floor you might want the e-speed hangers down (e.g. Worksop).

Adjusting the amount of weight behind the servo in 15g increments until you get a nice balance of agility and consistency from the car.

Make sure you are running the e-speed hangers and 'c' hole on the rear hub, the car is a dog on high grip without it.

In Belgium we don't use them anymore, works also without them, but the rest of the setup must be suited to it.
