Default X11 rear drive problem.

my pred has never lost drive to the rear gear box before but its completely lost it now.

i checked the shaft and it looks to have lost a rather large amount of ali where the pinion gear fits. could this be the cause of my problem?

Wear to the rear coupling on the main shaft is more than likely the cause of your problem. Have you been running on high grip surface and being heavy on the brakes/acceleration?

It is possible to remove the rear coupling from the shaft and replace by heating it gently with a blow torch. Be careful as too much heat will cause the fibres in the shaft to delaminate and twist, it's a simp job just take your time.
