Default The down fall of bury metro

This Is a text off a f1 sponsored driver and his mates experience of bury metro club.stu wood is no longer chairman and the control of the club has been handed over to a bunch of bashers

The text is a follows........

Just got this text off one of my mates, I was going to go today, but couldn't make it........

Fuc**d bury off come home early. What an absolute shambless. Nobody came out to marshell after their heat those that did were eating drinking and stood together talking. I crashed just behind **** and by the time i'd been put back on my wheel's he'd lapped me. Very very disappointed!!! Never been to a worse meeting

It's a crying shame what's happened to the club when a visiting driver comes away from a meeting feeling like this. I personally took a few months off racing due to my wife being in her final year of a nursing degree at uni but over the past 3 years I put my heart and soul into the club just for it to go down like the titanic..

I totally agree with you, and the one mentioned about todays experiance.

for all those reading this the reason this thread is in this section and not the bury metro section is because threads are closed and more disgustingly edited and on more than a few occasions.

whats happened is the long time serving members who have put many years of service and effort making this club happen have been made a mockery of by the low attendance and rare faces at bury, these people who know nothing of the club and are new to racing itself have recieved power of being on the committee because nobody else wants to.

I myself have only been there 12-18 months and have seen it hit rock bottom and will not attend for various reasons I will not rant on about.

I have to say the editing of posts I have never seen tollerated on any forum and its sad that this has to be spilled out into the general section because of whats happening in the bury section.

Funnily enough the driver in question didn't turn out to marshal one race he was supposed to, and then the next race stood around chatting!
Fair point on the marshalling, but when you yourself aren't perfect....

Likewise I remember the source of a lot of the anti-Stu talk in the past - you got what you asked for!

Otherwise truth is we have a lot of new people, which means a lot of inexperienced people. Experience takes time. Since virtually all the older Bury drivers didn't come today for various reasons, those people represented the majority.

Its an easy fix, but it seems nobody is patient enough. In fact, complaining is all that people want to do.
Neither of you came, at least one says he's never coming again - Fine. Go! But that means go, not lurk and b!tch.

Si I loved racing at bury, and I love the track, the banter and alot of the regular members who have been there for years.

but now we have people running with the committee who I hear on numberous occasions giving the most shocking and dangerous advice to potential new racers, and he went out of his way to give this advice, and another comittee member who blows his lipos up and blames the car.

I know bury could be immense but its let down by a lack of control and authority, and so much so other are going elsewhere. blame us all you like but were telling you where its going wrong and you all choose to ignore it.

im sitting this out and seeing how this goes, but I do and always will disagree with the editing of posts, quit editing them and go figure how to setup a car properly rather than making it worse and the oposite you should be doing and maintain it properly rather than causing fires on the newly laid astro.

I am a fully paid up member and entitled to have my say after all that's A visitors opinion and instead of taking it on the chin and moving forward from it you deleted it like it was untrue are you a a communist ? Well stop acting like one

As for bitching as you know Si I gave up plenty of my spare time to get the club and it's numbers where they are today but then again your just a basher anyway why not move the club forum off oople and onto maxbashing it would be more at home there now!

Futher expansion on today.....

I see your thread has been pulled but thought i'd tell you how it was today anyway. Shambles springs to mind, Location was ok, Track was reasonable, Marshelling absolutely shocking! poor Roger nigh on shouted himself blue trying to get people out to marshell, new and old! eventually we just raced with those who could be bothered! at 1 point there was 3 marshell's stood at a jump on the infield A) completely obscuring the track B) eating a god damn Mc Dee's C) chatting to each other D) not watching the track or racing...... I grip rolled at one point going over the loop just behind another car by the time I'd been marshelled that same car had lapped me I was only 5m away from the slow assed marshell. Very very disappointing having raced fairly recently at Goshen, i don't know where the new breed of racers have crawled from but there ruining a race club and i suspect very much the 4 of us that went won't be going again I personnally walked out after the 3rd heat in disgust. Shame!!!!!

........A keighley member wrote that they was our mates not to long ago.

No we werent there but this was from a chap WHO WAS THERE, so this feedback is constructive.
