Default Parts that just wear out

I've been racing my 2010 spec DEX410 for just over a year now so she's traveled a fair few miles and naturally things just wear out.

This isn't a complaint of any sorts and I have much praise for Mr Skelding and Mr Ambrose helping me out at a race when I needed to replace worn out parts.

My driveshafts and outdrive cups seem to wear the most.

I've replaced the front driveshafts twice.
6 diff outdrives
front centre shaft once and centre rear shaft twice.
rear driveshafts once also.
and recently chipped a tooth on a diff ring (Will replace with the posh ones)

Is this normal or common amongst other DEX410 drivers?

In 5 months of running my 410R I've replaced the front driveshafts and a couple of bearing in the front hubs that had worn out. I've noticed a bit of wear on the rear centre shaft, but still ok.

I only race indoor though, which might explain the lack of worn parts.

With Driveshafts, the item to keep an eye on is the cvd pins. I just replaced mine throughtout the car. (The car was built in october and has been run pretty much every week since)
It's much better to replace this single item every couple of months than replace the whole driveshaft sets.

If you leave it too long, the worn pin becomes 'loose' in the hole on the driveshaft. This excessive play then gets worse as each time you get on the gas or the brakes the pin moves 'extra distance' in the hole and hits the edge of the hole harder. This then becomes a vicious circle and before you know it, rather than just changing a pin you need to change the whole caboodle!

TBH: The list doesn't seem too bad to me. I guess I change my driveshafts once a year on the car. But I do change the pins probably every couple of months. You can tell when they are failing as they 'slop' about in the hole. You know when the driveshaft needs changing as a new pin will also 'slop' about in the hole.

My tips would be to clean and grease very month or so and change the pin as soon as you notice wear.

I'll keep an eye on those pins from now on then and get a few in stock. I have no complaints about the car or any of it's parts. I love it to bits and it/we continue to get results

i wore out a rear set of outdrives badly, backed of my slipper slightly and have hardly any wear, however i did put a good quality greaser in there and fit the cvd boots, also did the same on the proshafts. and they have hardly any wear now
