Getting back into offroad racing after rather long time (like a decade!) running electric and nitro onroad so I have a few basic questions.
In review of most of the setup sheets the car are around 1550-1600 grams running weight for carpet racing. Now I checked my car with nothing special or light weight and it was 1450 with a 5000mh battery. That is A TON of weight to add to the car to get to 1550-1600 range Am I missing something or is the high running weight required for effecient chassis? Also setup mention shims under ball studs but dont give a size of shim...is it a standard size does any one have a reference. Thanks Jamie |

most people add some weight to the cars to handle beta. how much weight you add is up to you and how you drive and what the tracks like, ive seen cars over 1750 grams. are you runing 2wd or 4wd?

I running a b4.1 on carpet.
I also noticed that when I put weight on the car as indicated on Brady petit setup that I am still well under 1550-1600 range. Are they running some sort of ballast under the battery also? |

Hi,
For ballast weight take a look here: http://p-dubracing.co.uk/page5.php The Ghea 2060 front bulkhead and the Ghea 2061 rear bulkhead, both of these are 30g each. (Also, Ghea 2057 / 2058, front brace.) You can also add weight under the battery and under the servo, Rube Bits make a range of weights for under the servo & battery. Details are here: http://www.rudebits.co.uk/ The under servo weight is good for high traction conditions. MiCk B. :-)
