Default CR2 parts back up

Someone at my local club is selling a CR2, now I have been told not to buy them as you can't get parts for them anymore.

Is this true? I can't believe it is as there are so many out there still racing.

If someone can put me straight either way that would be great.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, I'm 'still' running a CR2 and you can still get parts from shops all be they certain specified outlets rather than 'every' model shop... and there's also lots in the states and ebay... I think parts will start to get more scarce in a few years but for now I think we're ok...

Another one mate? you do love um don't ya? +1 for the comment on buy it...you defo won't regret getting a cr2...beautifully made and an ace buggy all round...I did notice a few retailers, DMS being one, selling xxxCR kits cheap so its even easier to get the donor beast...happy atomic ownership

You should be able to source parts easy enough mate, even if you do have to resort to eBay. The only parts you will ever need are idler gears and a few spares if not running a gear cover. Very strong, reliable car. Awesome to drive too, mines still on the wall here. Can't sell it

Enjoy the awesome atomic!

Default CR2

The lad selling it at the club will do me a deal for 2 x cr2's plus aload of spares. He said he uses one car as a doner car.

But when I was speaking to alot of the other guys at the club they all told me to stay clear of the CR2 due to parts and age of the CR2. They were all promoting the 22, X6 etc.

Could be politics within the club thats why I have come here to get some feedback.

As I have been away from racing for around 9 years so its hard to know which way to go.

Think I might take the plunge

Thanks again for your input

We can make make all the carbon fibre parts no problem, the only item we struggle with is the parts to mod the gearbox to a 4 gear, ie the idler post and motor plate. But the wise choice is to use one of Nicks 4 gear gearbox's which uses the kit motor plate and gear cover without any mod's, details >http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...t=72524&page=3

The only other item i guess might be tricky to find is the front plastic bulkhead from the xxx-nt, but you could use one of these instead and it might be a tad heavier which would help the car

Also in red or silver finish.
