Best free anti virus / anti spam

Am aware my 'racing' laptop doesn't have any anti virus or anti spam, just standard windows 7 stuff. Any recomendations, must be free

avg free edition is the best imo

i used to use avg.. avast.. antivir but now im converted to MSE

if you are a virgin media customer, use their PC Guard (or whatever it's called) it's fantastic - picks up loads of stuff that AVG misses.
