Default TRF201 chassis is bottoming or "slapping" the ground when landing,

my chassis is slapping the ground when landing,
i use
oil Schumacher 35 all around
blue AE springs front kit piston (4mm spacer inside shock)
grey AE springs rear kit piston
21mm ride high all around
front shock position SECOND FROM TOP ON TOP TOWER , MIDDLE ON HARMS
rear shock position THIRD FROM TOP ON TOP TOWER , MIDDLE ON HARMS

any particular way to build shocks?
any help appreciate.
thanx

Hi mate,

I used to run tamiya blue on the front, yellow on the rear, 35/40 in the front and 30 or 25wt in the rear.

Even with the above setup I still think that the chassis will slap on the floor off some big landings.

Re shock building, I use Lee's method which can be found on Trf racing.

Depending on how "slappy" the landing is and from what kind of jump AND how bumpy the rest of the track is, you might need a smaller rear piston (more pack). A touch more rear ride height could be something to consider too. As Matt says, it might not be possible to avoid all bottoming out.

thanx guys
yesterday i did try a losi 22 and i noticed that the same small jumps were the tamiya slaps in the ground the losi 22 dont, making the car easier to drive.
i will try to increase the ride hight and maybe stiffer springs.
can u point me out to the master Mr Lee Martin way to build shocks please.
thanx
