Default Van insurance renewal

This may not be typical to just van insurance but i had something strange happen this morning.

My insurance was up for renewal on sataurday the 17th (now the 19th) i got the renewal notice but due to hols , work , being lazy i never rang the insurance company to comfirm that i wanted to carry on with them

This morning i bit the bullet and rang them up to sort it out. i was told that because it had ran out i had to be classed as new policy. i said ok and listened to what they had to say i kept every thing the same a the last policy

It ended up being a cheaper price than what my renewal price was ! i was a little lost for words but comfirmed my details and saved myself a few ££££s just by letting my insurance run out .

You would have thought being loyal to them and staying another year the renewal would be an better price than a new costomer but seems not !!!

There is nothing stange about it. Insurance companies always bump up the renewal, and will drop it as soon as a simple phone call is made or you get a better offer elsewhere.
