This isn't someone that I know, but he is a friend of a friend's, I don't know the full story but from what I understand a very young man (35) with Multiple Sclerosis may be forced to move into a Nursing Home due to the way that NHS funding for continuing care works in Wales. I haven't heard of cases like this before because we're all about caring for people in their own homes, but I guess it's not like that everywhere.
He has a caring wife and family and currently has a good package of care enabling him to live in his own home, however if the funding changes the NHS may choose to move him into a Nursing Home, much against the wishes of this man and his family. I can't see any reason why he shouldn't be entitled to his wish to live and die at home. For more information read: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7199745.stm And if you wish to sign the petition to show your support please clicky: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/PeteRees/ Sorry for the morbid topic, I know it's not really relevant to anything on this site but I just feel sorry for the guy and hope that we can make a difference to him. Thankies, Back to the happy talk about mortgages and afternoon breakfasts, Vicky xxx
