I've noticed a fair few GTB's being sold in Ebay but not many brushless ESC's from LRP or Nosram. Does this mean the Novak's aren't as good and people are dumping them, or has Novak just released an updated model?

My Novak GTB is a great speedo, and has been fault free all season. The only downside to the GTB is its size and footprint, which is mahoosive!
I know the early GTB's didnt include Li-Po cutoff but they now do, so that maybe why people are selling them on ebay. There have been stories about the GTB's giving massive interference, but with my Losi XX4 with graphite chassis, I never had a problem. Cheers Mark |

The only difference with the LRP/Nosram speedos is that they have more settings to set the punch and break up more finely, the GTB's are pretty much just as good i'd say, nothing wrong with them seem abit more messy with wiring i think

i ran 2 GTB's last year with no problem. I think the footprint on the novak isn't too different to the LRP/nosram, it's mainly the height with the heatsink that causes problems under some snug fitting shells.
As Mike said the LRP's do have a few more punch settings to tinker with, but if your thumbs work as they should you don't need punch settings!! I think the GTB's are a little more reliable from experience in my region. I've seen quite a few LRP speedo and especially motors pack up at the first sign of water. the wiring on the GTB is a bit of a pain admittedly, as wires come out of both ends unlike the LRP. Mainly just depends if you have the budget for the LRP or not.

I don't have much of a budget at all which is why I've been watching Ebay to see what I can pick up second hand.
Thanks for the input guys. |

Raced my GTB-spread spectrum with 13.5BL for the 1st time last weekend.
Very happy with it. Faultless. I removed the fan otherwise would have difficulty fitting the RB5 bodyshell. Was 30C on the track. Was running with 3200 orion lipo but had the lipo cut-off turned OFF. No issues. Very happy ![]() |

Why run without the Lipo cutoff?

lipo cut-off has got nothing to do with fire
![]() when running lipo 3200 and 13.5BL, i can run up to 20 mins and only use 2500~2800 mah. as i never use any pack beyond 20 mins, there is no need for lipo cut-off? also, when practicing, i swop between lipos and old 3800 IBs which i run until they totally dump, i wouldn't want the cut-off to kick in prematurely. |
