Default Phat Bodies prototype body

Nothing to see yet

We've got some ideas for the general design of the body, like improved frontal aero without the need to go "FC" ....

The body will also be more aimed at the mid engined layout as this is more popular in Europe and has different needs to a rear motored chassis, but it will also fit the rear engined car. ...

But I just wanted to get some feed back on problems that peeps are having with the stock bodyshell .... like lack of clearance around saddle pack lipos .... etc

So let us know and we'll try and build it in to the finished design

If you can fit a vent at the front that would be good, for people using a speedo behind the servo and maybe some room for the fan

Yep that can be done. How much more room do you need for a fanned speedo ?

1. Would like the roof line just a tad higher as my LRP SXX which is mounted on the ESC plate is just touching the shell
2. Lack of clearance around saddle lipos
3. Skirt round the edges a bit lower so those that want to cut the shell a bit lower can do
4. Close the big hole round the back in mid motor config
5. Maybe add an air scoop for a bit of airflow over the motor/ESC

Get it done Si and send me 3!

Either make the sidepods higher or lower the cutline all around on the shell maybe ?. Only issue i can see you having is there are two body posts just in front of the motor, which you can pop body clips into, i use velcro so not a issue but could be for others.

if you could give it a bit more clearance over the speedo plate then fitting larger speedo's would be easier. bit it needs to maintain the sleek sexy look of the cougar shell

+1 for the clearance for conectors with saddle packs and nice scoop to through some air over the esc when mounted over the motor in mid layout and maybe carry it on a bit at the rear to cover the motor as exposed with losi shell

I had the problem was that the esc was to wide when I mounted it on the ecs Plate. So make it little wider around the motor and the esc plate =)

I'd like a bit more clearence over the top of the lipo, not bothered about clearance for the fan as i'm not running one.
Would love some protection around the motor as in mid configuration it is the most exposed bit of the car imho.
But of course when you get some done i'll have one off you si

Thanks guys, some really good pointers there that I wasn't aware of, we'll try and incorporate as many of these as we can and hopefully make the new body a better fit all round .... and look a little more slinky at the same time

Measure your esc with the fan (if using one) HxWxD in mm and I'm sure that would be usefull for me mrspeedy. Should be able to knock up some dummy esc's to help with sizing a new shell to fit

@ mrspeedy

you may want to look at a new shell that could cover this saddle pack layout also
