Thinking of replacing all our radio gear with 2.4ghz.
Since that means 3 setups I need to keep to a budget. I've read lots of posts about both the etronix/core and acoms systems. Loads of people seem to have had issues with the etronix and quite a lot have had range problems with the acoms. Are the etronix and core really exactly the same? Have the blue receivers sorted all the problems? Any other advice. Oh and they must be stick tx's |

i no you say stick only but when i changed from stick to wheel for decent reception on a budget i had to go wheel and after a slight adjustment period i loved it and dont want to go back to sticks, especially the cheaper versions and especially core ... seen loads of these go wrong - only buds works ok and thats the only 1
i used acoms for a bit they are cheap and i personally had no probs but my vote gos to spectrum . i loved my dx3r as soon as i used it . easy set up, lasts ages on batteries (4aa). never had a glitch .and i bought it second hand . if its sticks or nothing the futaba gear looks good and i no a few who use ko propo quite happily hope this helps . and dont be scared of wheel its better than you think

Never had any issues with my blue receivered Etronix Pro. Well worth the money over the standard system which I also had.

I have wheel..still like it.
But for precision I find sticks do the job of fine tuning.. I have KO PROPO gear all around and it's so good... I use Spek modules for 2.4 and now use Spek Receivers throughout all my gear. The receivers are easy to get hold of. Ko propo 2.4 ghz gear is not easy to get hold of and is expensive. I have the FM gear as backup which is great aswell. A KO PROPO setup can be costly but well worth it in my opinion. The esprit 3 especially is comfortable in my relatively small hands. |

Deano,
The problems with the Etronix seemed to revolve around the DHSS (black) version RX. The new FHSS (blue) version has not had any issues. Ensure you buy the FHSS and you will be fine. A decent budget set. Darren

OK, cheers for the replies. Looks like if I buy the FHSS versions I'll be ok, especially if I buy new from a shop, at least i'll have a warranty.

I use the stick variant of that system, with the LCD screen.

I've bought 3 of the Etronix sets. Got a bit of discount from Rossendale models so all good there.
Fitted the first one in my lads B4. It took a couple of goes to bind, but is fine now. |
