So why are there so many for sale all of a sudden, I'm on the hunt for a 4wd to play with, now I know they are not the cheepest car to run,But there has suddenly been an outbreak in the for sale sectionare parts hard to come by or cml about to dump yokomo or some other reason?

I'm not sure about dumping Yokomo as such, but they aren't really supporting them much. As I understand there are no plans to import the Bmax II, they stop stocking the Yokomo onroad cars (other than the drifters) a while back, and all their drivers run Associated now.
So far spares aren't that hard to source, but less and less places have them as CML really aren't pushing the car.

I can't figure out why this ain't more popular. If you run the B4 in 2wd, then the B44 with it's imperial screws is a great match, but if you run a 22 or so, this would be a great metric match that works great!

Lot's of my 22 mates run Durangos, but they're quitting one by one due to terrible fit, finish and quality.

The Yokomo works great, is metric, not very expensive, and parts are available many places. I'm biased though, made the switch from a B44.1 and one the National Championship

So happy to have metric screws on both cars. Was 52nd at the worlds with a shabby B44.1 that was edgy, this car feels safer and easier to drive by far, and did I mention metric?

Yer, had to go down that route before when I ran a worlds edition few years ago. But I would rather try and support uk shops etc......untill I just have no choice.

I had a Bmax a couple of years back, and absolutely loved it (great car - really regret selling it).

I'm really tempted by some of the ones which are currently for sale, but am put off slightly by the lack of support that this car is receiving.

Yeah, I too noticed the sudden surge of bmax's on sale...with really variable pricing!

I really like my bmax...so nice to drive. Spares are a problem but I've really hoarded a load!

There are always ppl selling spares if you can't get them easily from distributors....worked for me every time.

Default b max

I ran a b max-4 last year and ended up going back this year. Got a really nice Ft then i bought a B max-4 II from Japan. Cost me a fortune!! With postage and customs charges it was nearly £400!! It goes really well and it's first run was at the oOple Invernational and it was spot on.

They are crackin cars and to be honest, unless you run indoors they dont really break. I've got loads of spares that i have picked up.

If you are thinking about one, get it! You wont be disappointed.

If you buy a kit or spares from Japan or Hong Kong do you have to pay UK import duties as well? From my understanding these only apply if the item is available in the UK, but a B Max 4 II isn't imported. If you do have to pay, how much is it?
I also feel that it is shame that Yokomo isn't properly supported in the UK, but it's probably due to the exchange rates.

maybe long winded trying to show customs that altho yokomo is imported into the uk via cml the car you have in a box is not imported, I can see them using a blanket policy and just saying the product has a uk importer.also would someone in an office at cml say to a customs official on a phone "well we could get one in if a customer requested it" we just don't stock it.

I am tempted by one' but rallyx wise I did run an mp9, just got hard to get the parts in a hurry so sold it, now run a mugen mbx6.....same thing happened, my LHS looks after me very well with prices, thus for me I realy want a car supported well in the uk by an importer who has stock of parts

This said, if a shop in HK was as easy to use as TeamC is over there I may be more tempted

Default b max

Buying from HK is not as bad as Japan. I bought my Bmax-4 from Race and Drift in Japan. Car was £270, shipping was £52 and customs were £70!! Thats Britain for you tho. RC Mart have them for £270 and theur postage is only £17.
