Default RB5 'V's RB5 SP2

If I was to buy one what would the differences be for the vega conversion or would it not really not make that much difference?

if you get the sp2 you dont need to buy anything to get it up and running,im not overly sure if you can even fit the vega to the non sp,i could be wrong,if you can you would need to spend a few bob getting it up and running

You can use the old RB5 and RB5 SP, but you need the Kyosho Long Main Gear Shaft, KYOUM524.

What would be the better car? How much better is the SP2 over the RB5?

Does anyone run a Vega RB5?

It's just mainly a difference in rear end geometry (wishbone length, driveshaft length, inner hinge pin spacing and rear hub camber link positions).

As for which is best there is as many prefences as there are drives as with all setup related items (personally I run an RB5 "WORLDS" rear end on my car, both mid or rear motored)

As Roger just mentioned its hard to say which is better. Personally I think your best bet would be to use the latest spec (Sp2), as that is what most are running so you'll have a good place to start with setups.
