Do these receivers have a problem with overheating, and if so have they been resolved?
Sure I'd heard of issues in the past?

I remember being in a big thread about this, Dave Grunhill was able to explain issues Bruce Thompson had had when running long mains in 1/8th. As I recall switching to the optional 'France' setting helped.
However for me I've never had an issue in 10th when running full packs from full to flat at RHR.

There were issues in the past with 1/8 IC buggies. Long finals and small but hot (heated from the engine) reveiver boxes caused the problems. I have never heard on any heat issues when used with electric powered cars.
I know many people that use the R603FS in their 1/8 buggies and it was a long time since I last heard of any problems: Perhaps they have made some changes to it, Futaba would not admit that anyways.

I've run (and still run) these in about 10 different electric cars and have had no issues at all. Some of these are covered in blutac and wrapped in a balloon for waterproofing and show no signs of overheating.

I had problems with that RX when it was ran next to the engine. As said above switching to French mode does help out, I think it transmits less frequent therefore reducing the load on the RX....

Hi Ry, how close to the engine was it? I run an 801 so the radio box is quite far away!?
