I do know that the LRP ESCs do not work with the Losi motors.

I've used loads of brands mixed up, and the only problem I found was you can't use most Novak motors with GM esc's. And thats only because the Novaks in question have a built in sensor wire, but GM esc's use a different plug at the esc end, so it won't fit.
Its also true that some motors (LRP x12's for example) are not advisable for use with timing advance esc's, but thats really only important if you are running 10.5t or 13.t motors.

I've just got some of the orca stuff in stock. it looks good on the track. I might have to sink an esc and motor into the 511 just to give it a try.

I currently use speed passion esc's and motor which are also good.

What car are you thinking of putting the combo in, and will you be putting a faster motor in at a later date?

I would go with either the Orca vc4 pro or a speed passion lpf. Both will handle down to a 5.5. Both a really good speedo's and will be ideal for what you want now and in the future.

I used an lpf in my 511 with a 5.5 for months. I only swapped it out when I got a pro, and put the lpf in my 2 wd

Thanks

Matt

Biggest "bang for your buck" would most probably be the LRP SXX TC Spec that JESpares sell for £129.99 (See banner at the top of the page). It is an extremely good ESC that can handle anything you throw at it. Overkill for 2WD, yes, but factor in the price and that it can handle hotter motors and it is a good buy.

Regarding Novak motors, please note that the Ballistic series do not have a sensor wire attached but rather the conventional plug.
