My cp B-max is still running hot. Specs are -
Nosram matrix evo istc (auto set-up at the moment) Novak 5.5t spur 87t pinion 19t GM 4200 lipo 30c Tested with Schumacher yellow mini spikes on short grass and astro track Just had a fresh rebuild, smooth diffs, nothing binding. I was thinking of changing out the spur to 81t and using another pinion. The car still seems slow on the straight, but heat keeps building. Need some ideas.

Hi Minke,
I always ran 87t with a 19t pinion on a 5.5. if speedo settings are stock you could check the punch and timing settings arent to far advanced? Also think i used to have a heatsink fitted to motor!, which may help. Mike. |

You can't mesh anything like a 19t with the 81t spur. Still, 19t seems a little low - I think I was using 21t with my LRP 5.5T. That might explain the lack of pace part.
Personally I much prefer my Bmax now its running a 10.5T with a 26t pinion, 81t spur. Its still quick on the straight, but I can control it in the infield now. The secret here is to motor down - lets face it the car is too fast for you as it is!

Check how much drag brake you are using as this could also be a cause.

I run that Lrp sxx now with biggest batts 21 87 gearing and sp 6.5
And it's the coolest Bmax I ever ran in two years no fans and no blisters Gonna try exceed motor next week thigh reckon it revs higher Lrp is the future of my Rc electrics I understand why they have the reputation now To be fair bmaxa and and an x4 all run hot as fool any way unless it's cooking electrics just cut bigger vent holes And if yokomo don't wake up and start supporting Rc racing a bit more or maybe cml depending on who's in charge I'm gonna have to change brands Cmon yokomo give us Very loyal Bmax owners something to hope for The bmax2 is hardly progression is it And 2wd aint my thing before ya mention that proto type

I ran a bmax4 last year with nosram speedo and orion vortex 5.5 and it was alwalys really hot. Just recently i bought another one and raced it yesterday and it was spot on temp wise. This time i am running a Tekin rs pro with SP 6.5. Really quick but kept cool also. After a 5 minute heat on a large grass track my speedo was showing 3 lights only
