Hi, Still fairly new to the electric side of things and looking at buying a brushless ESC/Motor combo soon to start racing
![]() Having seen the EZrun ESC/Motor combo they look great value for money, however I have heard that these can not be used at BRCA sanctioned events, why is this? Thanks |

Please remeber that the EzRun ESCs are sensorless, this isn't ideal for racing (although not the end of the world). MOST of the sensored motors will happily run on a sensorless ESC like the EzRun BUT it won't be as smooth or responsive at the bottom end.
May I suggest that you consider one of the 60A XeRun speedos, something like an Xtreme Stock and mate that with a 10.5 motor, will be plenty quick enough to start racing with. Click the link in my sig and check out the HobbyWing products there. |

Most electric classes also specify motors must be from the electric board lists, and the only way motors can be added to the list is if the importer submits the motor to ensure it meets the BRCA specifications.

Motors and batteries need to be on the BRCA homologation lists to compete in sanctioned events. For club meetings it doesn't matter. I think there is the odd sensorless motor on the list but you would be better off spending slightly more and getting a sensored one. There is a reason why 90+% of people use sensored gear.

i have a 60a ezrun and a losi 10.5 motor in my 2wd buggy, no cogging, very smooth, it will literally crawl and is very progressive. i have driven other peoples cars which are sensored and to be honest, couldnt really tell the difference apart from pulling away from a standstill. ezrun 9,10,12 and 13 turn from the combo's lack torque in comparison to the full 540 can motors which isnt so good in a buggy, but as for the speedo's i really cant fault them
