Default club in barnsley?

are there many people out there who would be interested in a club in barnsley?

it would be at the metrodome sport centre and if there are enough people interested ill start making inquiries

would need volunteers to help and sponsors to help funding and donations of track etc maybe even a timing system?

much love

it would all depend on the majority basicly.will be 1/10th

here are the ideas

1,touring car
2,buggies
3,1/12th pan
4,m-chassis
5,mardave

the problems are additives people running 1/12th pan will be wanting to use it also buggies as ramps to be added removed from the track and ripping the track up(carpet) but like i said it all depends on the majority,im off to gym in abit so will ask while im there about hall hire costs times best days

We used to race 1/10Touring cars at The Metrodome years ago, good turnouts and great fun.

IIRC they don`t like addatives or the worry of damage from cars landing off jumps etc,so i would of thought 1/10 tourers,M chassis and Mardaves without addatives would be ideal for the venue.

Best of luck.

i used to go years ago too it was always e and f finals the odd g final so that shows you what kind of numbers that used to go,they ran buggies but flat track,

the hall where it was is now the gym,i was thinking buggies would have to run flat track or some home made bits to chuck on the track such as small table tops and the odd small jump and probably some hose under carpet to creat a bumpy section but must be easy to move and get of the track for the next heat, i run a dave so will defo be a dave heat lol

its all down to funding basicly to get the club started 4 main things we need carpet. guttering or hose to mark the track out,lap timing and laptop to run it,4 things i dont have or the money to buy it with.so donations of these items from other clubs if possible would be required.or sponsorship would be cool unless we do abit of fund raising are selfs to get it going?

yep it was shame they packed up though just lost interest because there lads went to uni + there were fair few people turning up 5mins before booking finished n leaving straight after there final so they didnt have to help,n was same folk every meeting doing it.

i was there to help set up and help at the end loading all the track on to trailer n making massive footballs from all the duck tape. i was a school kid mind n loved the club was wounded when they stopped

if you were going to rum mardaves on a sat night you might want to run every other week as shurbun run on a sat night with a good turn out , so if you run alternative weeks you might get better numbers ! just an idea
