Default team associated B44

Have ordered B44 today so hopefully i should get it next week as spoken to my local rc shop as he should get it by next wed or thurday next week finger cross

Hello to all!

I've just became a member of your forum. I think is nice! Congratulations!

So, I'm about to order an Associated RC10B44 but I don't know which type of motor & ESC should I choose.

I'm betwin 2 combinations:
1) Associated LRP Sphere Competition & Vector X-11 6.5T
2) Associated LRP Sphere TC & Vector X-11 3.5T

I'd also like to ask you which type of pinion gear should I buy for each motor. 48p-19T? 48p-20T?

Of course any other suggestions are welcome.

well first things first is what track will you be racing on??? What surface how big etc etc.

As for speedo and motor the lrp motor's are not that good the orion/peak and novak motors are more reliable. Also the nosram speedo's are exsactly the same as the lrp ones just about 25 pound cheaper.

As for the decition between the tc and the competion speedo's i would go with the TC vertion but with a diffrent motor a 3.5 is a touring car motor far to fast for a buggy i would recomend getting LRP sphere tc verion/Nosram matrix TC verion and a orion/peak 6.5 motor or a 7.5 motor if you are new to the sport as for gearing you will need to get a range of pinions and get a good starting point off someone and then work from there to make it suit your track and how you like it to feel.

i would go for the TC spec sphere but i wouldnt get a motor that quick. where you planning on racing? what would you say your ability is like?? it may make things easier for people to suggest wich motor.

I'm not a newcomer to the RCs. I used to race with a Kyosho Inferno 4wd 10+ years ago but for a couple of reasons I stopped. Unfortunately all of my knowledge is around GP cars and for that reason I don't even know the basics of EP cars .

So, now, I decided to work again with RC cars but this time with EPs (not GPs) . The bad thing is that I live in Greece where we have not a lot of tracks to choose (there are only 2! and their made especialy for 1:8 off buggies). I don't know if that details are helpful.

Based on your answers, about the ESC I should choose an LRP TC or an Nosram TC.
About the motor you suggesting a T6.5, right? (As I've understood a T3.5 would be too fast for a buggy and with less torque than a T6.5).

I don't think you will go far wrong with either an LRP or Nosram speedo (got both now, both seem great but then again they are the same unit!!)

As for motors I was told Novak was the most reliable so that is what I went for. Orion / Peak seem a good bet too.

As for motor spec 5.5 seems the most popular in the UK for 4wd but I'd maybe go for a 6.5 if your running on a loose dirt track (which I assume, probably incorrectly, you will be in that part of the world)

If you are coming back from a break then you would probably not go far wrong starting with a 6.5 (or potentially even a 7.5) until it feels too slow then go to 5.5. I was in a similar situation, I took a break from racing for a few years, came back to it about a year or so ago and started with a beast (Mamba Max 7700) which was way too fast for me. I had a 6.5 in my Lazer and now have a Novak GTB with 6.5 in the B44 and would recommend it highly.

Nothing wrong with a 6.5 in a 4wd, i've been running one for the past few weeks indoors and it's running superbly with my nosram 2007 esc. I'm running the sintered rotor version for abit more 'kick' and feel.

Ive tried a 5.5 before and it is very quick, but i find for a consistant 5 minutes a 6.5 will do the job.

The reason that I insist on the LRP 2007 Competition ESC and the LRP X11 T6.5 motor is that I'll buy all the stuff via TowerHobbies on line shop.
In the page of electric motors & components is a combo of theese two parts (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXRXY0&P=0).
I think it could be interesting to buy this combo. If you take a look on the site and find something more interesting, please let me know

it will be running on novak brushless 4.5

In 10 days I'll have my B44 in my hands. Is it able to have the review of B44 in theese days or from the next year?

I can't afford a B44 right now so this isn't a car I've planned to review I'm afraid.

It would be hard to top that review - with interviews from one of the top drivers in the land and the designer of the car. Impossible even.
