Talking The New Kid On The Block

Hi guys, new to the scene really. After going down to Worksop a few times through the winter just to watch, I finally took the plunge and decided to have a crack at this myself as it looks bloody good fun!

I have gotten myself a Durango DEX410R as I was told they are extremely strong cars (I will need it) lol

So just thought I would introduce myself etc....

I'm open to any advice for a new guy on the car, equipment etc.... I have only bought the car upto now so any info or advice on the gadgetry would be cool I have around £900 on my budget to get the rest of the gear

How do I go about entering into a race etc ....

Thanks for the advice in advance, and hopefully will be up and running soon

Kev.

if you have a Dex410R first things you need to do is
get new ballcups. get different diff seals like the kyosho ones and the carbon fiber front and rear shock towers.

I've been looking at getting one myself and this is the advice that I was given

and make sure your centre CVDs are well built, else (like me) they might come loose, and drop a metal part under your ESC, shorting it out :

oh, and build your diffs / input shafts correctly : http://www.team-durango.com/blog/?cat=3&paged=2

Plenty more good info on the TD website.

Agree with the diff seals, I've never had a ballcup pop and as I tapped them out both the left and right handed they adjust easy without popping too. Don't think shock towers are really an issue. Better off getting the alloy hinge pin hangers and pivot balls.

Sweet jesus, that's some serious outlay......radio gear wise, I'd have to recommend the Spektrum DX3r (wheel transmitter), mind you could even get the dx3r pro and still have shed loads for rest of the electrics.

Worth having a look at the Tekin Rs Pro too, don't have one myself, but if had the funds would happily upgrade to this
