Default Lee Martin victorious at Stotfold 4WD National

The opening 4WD national of the season at Stotfold was a close race between several drivers but it was Ellis Stafford and Lee Martin that shone above all others as the pair shared qualifying between them. Lee Martin took overall TQ honours and lined up in front of Ellis for the 3-leg A final.

Much like qualifying it was a battle between these two that stole the show - Lee taking the first leg and Ellis the second. It was all down to the dramatic final leg and after an intense battle Ellis took the lead but with an increasingly worrying noise coming from his Kyosho he was almost instantly out of the race with some broken gears.
Lee Martin took the final leg and with it the win and a great start to his 2011 4WD national title hopes.

Nah, he uses the 511 because he loves the rear diff cover and lipo tray.

Or maybe just like Jimmy wrote, he feels more comfortable with the 511 on this kind of track.

Good spot! I think we didn't get these results - they weren't printed and put up so it was left. We can no longer get exported results as it's against BRCA policy to allow anyone to plug anything into the computer to get them so we have to work off paper results and if they aren't printed we can't use them. That said - I've got the scores but not the times so I can at least fix the order hehe.

Awesome report as ever. Well done Lee

Great showing by Schumacher too, looking like a cracking season ahead. Looking forward to seeing the SX3 at club level etc.

Look forward to the remainder of the photos.

Feel sorry for Nathan tho!
