Default Bump Steer

All,

Trying to work out how to set/remove bumpsteer..read somewhere that you should get your steering links parallel to your wishbones, is this accurate or is it not as easy as all that?

if you hold the car off the floor, move the suspention up and down, look for the wheel to start to point out as you do it,that is what you need to get rid of,by as you say moving the angle of the camber link on the spindle i think, best thing is give it ago and see

My front wheels were turning in at full droop. I realised I left out a spacer under the ball joint plus the ballraced steering makes the track rod sit much lower...

Dave, you need to make sure that the arc swept by the steering tie-rod is the same, or as close to it as possible, to the arc swept by the driveshaft stub axle.

This can be VERY hard on modern shaft driven buggies as there is a trans case where you'd want to put the inner end of the steering links on lock.

On the FS2 we have to live with a little bit of bump steer at the very extremes of droop if we are to have none (or none visually at least) in the normal working range. The little bit we have to live with is at least in the correct direction (as in reducing steering on the unloaded inner wheel) so it doesn't effect the performance of the car in real terms.

From what I can remember of the 502 it's similar.
