Default Best bearing lube?

Any recommendations for high-speed bearing lube? What are people using e.g. Avid, LRP etc? Cheers

Plus it's half the price if you buy direct.

Royal Oil is ace, but I seem to use some Orion thing I've had in my pit box since the beginning of time...

But, I'm bad at oiling bearings, I usually forget...

Squeak.

I take it you don't have to mix the ZX1 with anything else i.e. it's a blend of oil and their special additive? How much to use also... I usually soak mine in brake cleaner, dry them throughly (blow out with compressed air if in a rush) and add about 2-3 drops oil. I have some LRP Blue Factor that's been in my toolboc for like 20 years!

I'm going to try the C76 microlube stuff...

Found these sites, both helpful...

...or try Finish Line Cross Country Wet Lube for bicycle chains - fully synthetic and much less cost at £6 a bottle that will last years. Works best for our bearings as it takes loads well. HTH

Default ZX1 microlube "activation"???

Hmm... I read on their website that the anti-friction additive in ZX1 is "activated" at about 60C and so I wondered if bearings in electric power model cars even get up to that temperature? If not, wouldn't the bearings have to be heated up first before the additive "bonds" and is fully effective? I have an image of putting bearings in an oven or are there in fact "micro hotspots" when the metals move at speed?

I heard some team drivers use it... any tips guys?
