Default 2.4Ghz

Been away from racing a long time....still have an old 40Mhz set, but picked up a Futaba 2.4 on ebay. No receiver with it, so I need to get one.....are there any compatibilty issues with mixing brands...., or would anything work it?

Also I've noticed servo specs are quoted at around 5V & 6 Volt....do different receivers give different outputs. (Class is 10th scale buggy)

You will need to use a receiver from the same brand. I'm sure somebody else will chip in a tell the the exact one that you need. The power for the receiver and the servo comes from the esc and is usually 6v.

Which model Futaba is it? Does it have a removable module? If so, I think it's actually cheaper to get a different module and receiver than buy a Futaba receiver - pricey!

Spektrum is the obvious choice, but there are others - I got the Assan kit, which has never failed, because I wanted enough receivers for a sizable fleet. My Hitec CRX won't save settings unless I pop it out, though - odd, but not a biggie...Giantcod do the FrSky kit, which is very inexpensive, yet performs well judging from reviews.

2.4ghz in surface models is an absolute rip-off when the same technology is available for planes at a fraction of the price.

No module in that. Futaba rx only in that case.
