![]() ![]() UKMicroX 2011 Event Details The first ever multi-day micro event held in the UK! On the weekend of 6th-7th August 2011 I will be hosting the 'UKMicroX 2011' event at the Caldicot RC Club's venue in Caldicot, Gwent. Booking in and qualifying rounds will take place on the Saturday, with the remaining qualifying rounds and finals taking place on Sunday with each A-final being over three legs! The event will run to the following format; 2 rounds of practice, 8 rounds of qualifying ('Round By Round', best 5 from 8 to count) and then single legged finals except for the three legged A-finals! The event will cater for three classes and has been capped at a maximum of 65 drivers, to a maximum of 80 entries for those who wish to run multiple classes. 1/16th 2WD: This class has been capped to 20 entries maximum (2 heats). 1/18th 4WD: This class has been capped to 10 entries maximum (1 heat). (The wheel rule will allow vehicles such as the FTX Blaze/LRP Shark/Duratrax Vendetta buggy to enter using standard FTX/LRP/Duratrax buggy wheels.) 1/16th 4WD: This class has been capped to 50 entries maximum (5 heats). The UKMicroX 2011 event will be run to a modified version of the BRCA Micro Section rules which will be released in due course along with a full list of sponsors. Any entry form will be released as soon as all the sponsors are confirmed. Although the event will be held over two days the event will be as cheap to enter as possible. With this in mind entries will cost £10 for your first entry and £15 for two or three classes! The UKMicroX is the perfect show case for drivers and manufacturers to show off their skills and equipment prior to the Series starting in in the autumn of 2011! If you are a manufacturer or distributor and would like to sponsor the UKMicroX 2010 then please email [email protected] as soon as possible to discuss this further! If you have any questions or wish to discuss options further then please email me anytime. I am more than happy to answer any questions, I just want to pull this event off and make it the best event I have ever organised! 1/18th 2wd might be able to go with the 1/16th 2 wd. I'm just guessing there's not all that many 18th 2 wheel drivers.

Sorry, due to the lack of interest at this years National Series I have decided against running a class for the 1/18th 2WD cars. You are welcome to race in the 1/16th 2WD class though as you will be well within the dimensional requirements ![]() And yes, same venue as the Caldicot National ![]()

there are several nice pubs/restaurants in the area, there's the Roman ruins in Caerwent (or Venta Silurum as they would have called it). Caldicot has a castle and Waitrose, amongst other normal amenities. Chepstow is a little further away but is very nice and is the nearest Tesco, also has a bigger castle than Caldicot! Please feel free to start a seperate topic if you want to ask specific questions about the venue or for recomendations regarding the surrounding area. ![]() |

Mainly just for chilling afterwards, might just be me, Sam might come with me, so it depends. Might just book somewhere in Cardiff as we've been a couple of times and like it.

bugger! I won't be there. It clashes with a round of the TORC and the BTCC. Never mind though, I'd have done shit anyways lol.

agian, no 18th 2wd class?? I'm really enjoying this year micro nat class, but theres a hooge difference between chunk and say mini t. I dont mind running in the 16th class as a separate class ie trophys etc etc, but dont try swipe it off the list, push it see if you can get more numbers, coz its pretty much been ignored this year, but have given some great finals between me and Mr Knight (from your home club lol). there's been a solid 3 (lol) at most and will contunie to be with me paul and winston, there has been other people from other nats at Broughton and essex which didnt race again maybe they can make it. There was 5 at dudley, There's got to be 6-8ish easy, you've capped 4wd at 10, only need 2-4 more or less to make another class surly thats not to hard. You'd get different numbers at a single one off 2 dayer.

Scott, I fully appreciate your thoughts, but we have tried pushing the 1/18th 2WD class over the course of numerous BRCA Micro National Championships but to no avail.
I cannot justify putting on a heat for a class that might not attract 5 entries when I could easily fill that heat with cars from say the 1/16th 4WD etc. If you want the 1/18th 2WD class to grow get some guys along to Hereford and Ardent for the remaining two rounds of the Nationals. Like I said, we have tried hard for the past few years to get the numbers up but ultimately it just never grew even with all the hard work from the committee.

A quick UKMX'11 update;
Ive been working on event sponsors all of last week, trying to secure as many as I can as fast as I can so that I can release the entry form to you all quickly! I have secured about half my intended sponsors and am working on the remainder this week ![]() The Caldicot Club are working on a 'facilities/local amenities' so that you all know where the local petrol stations are, food places, supermarkets etc close to the venue. I have a hotel list of local 'Travelodge' type hotels that I will post up now incase anyone wants to be brave and book a room before the entry form is released ![]() --- ALL INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS; Please can you PM me, email me or reply here if you are certain you want to attend this meeting so I can reserve you a space on the entry list. I doubt anyone will begrudge me holding onto a few spaces for our foreign friends ![]() --- 1/18th 4WD - Shark/Blaze chassis; After all the talk about allowing these at the Nationals etc I havent heard from one single person who has stated that they want to race their Shark/Blaze buggy alongside the RC18T's in the 1/18th 4WD class. As it stands the entry caps per class are currently: 1/16th 2WD - 10, 1/18th 4WD - 10, 1/16th 4WD - 60 unless I can be pursuaded otherwise by either 20 Chunk racers or 20 Blaze/Shark/RC18T/Caster racers ![]() If you want to race 1/18th 4WD please post below ![]()

I would like to hope that by next week I will have secured all the event sponsors and have released the entry form.
For the first 7 days entries will only be accepted from foreign/international drivers (those not living in the UK @ Carl/StuMac/RobC/Welsh people/etc lol) to give those drivers willing to travel thousands of miles to the UK the chance to get a space before the mad UK rush! After that 7 day period entries will be open to EVERYONE ![]() Any problems, questions, comments please email me: [email protected] ![]()
