I have been using one now for approx. 3mths, and think it's great. Really or the price (approx - £260) it's not much more than a decent charger and discharger. I have also noticed with my IB's a couple of time's a cell has gone down, and becuase you charge them individually it brings them back to life. Which wouldn't be the case, with lets say a conventianal charger...

I bought my son one for his birthday last August and it's been very good, I liked the idea of charging individual cells rather than a pack. This way it lets you know how much has gone into each individual cell in mah's, enabling you to see which one (s) may be dragging your pack down. It gives you the voltage and temperature for each cell and cuts them off seperately, thus preventing cooking a cell while the rest of the pack is still charging. By charging a pack you could have a cell with a very high temperature and not notice as the whole pack hasn't reached the cut off.
He can do his 6 cell side by sides & 3 x3 saddle packs in the internal tray and at the end of charging it will give you a match percentage for the whole pack. You can also charge at the same time on the external ( pack only no individual cell monitoring) or run a motor in from it.
Simply one button click & spin set up which takes a little getting used to but once you have it's easy. I'm just about to plug his into the computer and download the latest software update for it.
Expensive if you buy from the U.K., which I did as at least if something does go wrong you've a local point of contact, but IMHO worth every penny.

I think the recent software updates on the web, (free) are great adding to the Spintec ICC's already super features. Now there is a acility where you can put a set mAh back in the cells, e.g. 1000mAh in the IB's. Also you can switch the fan between fan on Auto or on all the time, (great for these summer months)...

Default Interesting Graphs using a Pro-Trak

see the pix

this is what the ICC is doing to our cells

charged 5 amps to 40c
discharged to 0.9v per cell

cells use are some old 37's

Well that graph certainly suggests it doe individually charge and discharge each cell!

used Pro-Trak sofware to capture the volatage data during the Spintec's charge & discharge

Charge Graph
cell 4 has charged 1st to 40c then stopped charging
@ the end of the graph to me it looks like the volts go up on the individual cells as the Spintec stops charging each single cell. Probably it's software not taking the amps of quick enough hence the voltage spikes you can see. Not sure on that though.

Discharge Graph
after 1st cell has stopped @ 0.9v the other 5 cells look to continue below 0.9v. Spintec ICC said they stopped @ 0.9v. Talked with Eric @ Spintec & Phil @ Pro_Trak and I've updated the data capture from the Pro-Trak and the graph now looks better. See attachment.

re 1st discharge graph
Quote:
If it does not measure fast enough then it can not follow the fast drop in voltage. You see in the graph that the cells that drop the fastest seem to cut off early. That is probably because 4 seconds is too long to catch the lowest point I think. The slower dropping voltages can be followed closer.

Regards,
Erik
Info in grey circle is were I was changing over batteries without shutting down the Pro-Trak software.
